aterm transparency only on workspace 1!!

Hello!
After I made a BIG mistake, I had to reinstall Slackware 10.0. Previously, I had the system perfectly configured: everything worked as it was supposed to, incluiding fluxbox.
Now I downloaded and compiled fluxbox 0.9.13 and aterm 1.0.0. but cant make the terminal to be transparent on all workspaces. Actually, it works well only on workspace 1!
I set the background image with fbsetbg, and this uses wmsetbg. Aterm was compiled with transparency support and fluxbox was compiled with imlib2 enabled.
I just cant see the answer. Is it a fluxbox problem, or a X.org related issue? By the way, Im using X 6.7.0 (included in the slack10 CDs).
Please, if you know what the problem is, or any solution possible, help me.

Thanks in advance.

Why would you want to have the terminal transprent? I don't see why this is so importantor is there something I missed in your post? Sorry I can't help you tho....

Hi!
Thanks for the reply.
The transparent aterm isnt really necesary, but it simply looks really cool and gives more pleasure to the eye when issuing commands in the terminal. Honestly, the thing that keeps me unrestful is the fact that I used to have a transparent aterm, and now I cant have it cause Im unable to make it work as it should.
Guess Ill just have to give up on that.

Hi there!

I had the same problem as you did, but after you said you installed aterm 1.0.0, I had to check my version. I too had the same version installed from a linuxpackages-10.2 -repo. So I installed the other older package from linuxpackages-10.1 -repo. The older version is 0.4.2. Now I got it working.

I agree that there is something goofy about aterm 1.0 transparency because I have a very similar problem. I'm using a standard Slackware 10.2 box with Fluxbox and Aterm 1.0 and while transparency works in all desktops, tinting only works on desktop 1. The really weird bit is that if I connect an Aterm to another window via the tabs, all of a sudden tinting starts working.

Maybe using the old Aterm is the best thing to do. Personally, I haven't seen any huge improvements with version 1.0.

WOW!!
I had almost forgotten about this post since Im currently using XFCE cause I never managed to get aterm and fluxbox working correctly. I will try what you suggest. XFCE is nice, but I prefer fluxbox. Its lighter. Thank you very much for sharing the info.
