aterm and Xconfig

I am trying my best to find where I can put my setting for aterm. I have read a lot about using .Xconfig but in my distro of Fedora, I cannot find that file.

This is what I find in /etc/X11

[jdier@linuxbox X11]$ ls
applnk proxymngr XF86Config.INT846 xorg.conf~
dm serverconfig XftConfig.README-OBSOLETE xorg.conf.backup
fs starthere xinit xorg.conf.roR842
gdm sysconfig xkb xorg.conf.rpmsave
lbxproxy twm Xmodmap Xresources
prefdm X #xorg.conf# xserver
prefdm~ xdm xorg.conf xsm
[jdier@linuxbox X11]$ ls -a
. lbxproxy sysconfig xinit xorg.conf.backup
.. prefdm twm xkb xorg.conf.roR842
applnk prefdm~ X Xmodmap xorg.conf.rpmsave
dm proxymngr xdm #xorg.conf# Xresources
fs serverconfig XF86Config.INT846 xorg.conf xserver
gdm starthere XftConfig.README-OBSOLETE xorg.conf~ xsm
[jdier@linuxbox X11]$

When I look at the xorg.cong or Xresources they do not ~seem~ like the right places. (I am very new to linux and unix, so I could be wrong)

I still don't get all of the aterm settings, but I can hack through them with the help of man aterm or aterm -h.

What I DO need help with is figuring out where to add the configuration info that drives aterm.

(I would rather not use an extended command line with a bunch of arguments, even if it was in my fluxbox menu)

Thanks in advance for helping out a complete dumbass newbie!

Jim

in your home directory make a file called .Xresources
this will load your settings
to load it in (to test) use:
xrdb ~/.Xresources
then on it will load automajikally when you startx

the format is like this (from mine)
Code:
aterm*scrollBar_right: true
aterm*transparent: true
aterm*font: *fixed-bold-r-*-15-*-*
aterm*foreground: black
aterm*pointerColor: wheat
aterm*troughColor: Grey
aterm*cursorColor: Orchid
aterm*saveLines: 10000
