Asterisk delay

I have installed a piece of software called Asterisk@home. I have posted several times on the Asterisk forums, but it appears no one there has had this problem as there are no replies.

Basically it goes like this:

Scenario 1. Incoming call on PSTN to ring group. Asterisk answers the call but doesn't ring the ring group for ten seconds.

Scenario 2. Incoming call on PSTN to Digital Receptionist. Asterisk answers in a couple of seconds. DR sends call to ring group which doesn't ring for ten seconds.

The problem in both cases is getting to the ring group. During this 10 second delay there is dead silence and every caller is hanging up.

I have turned off ID recognition and fax and set immediate = yes in zapata.conf, none of which has changed this delay a all.

Has anyone had this problem. I'm running on a Celeron 366, 128MB ram and 4 Gig HD.

ps the scenario holds true even when using 7777 to test calls in.

answer

36 people have viewed this post, 0 replies. Is every one waiting for me to work it out. Doesn't seem to be much point in having a forum when you have to work it out for your self.
OK, right or wrong, I do appear to have an answer.
Minimum specs.!
Asterisk is supposed to be able to run on older equipment, minimum pentium 1, 300Mhz, about 32Meg ram.
My machine looked like it exceeded those requirements, Celeron, 366Mhz, 128Meg Ram.
Over this last weekend I've moved the install into a pentium 3, 1 GigHz. The 10 second delay has vanished, with nothing but standard settings.
