ASF media not working on Suse

To whom it may concern

I have Xine & Mplayer install on my machine and ASF Media file will not play on my Suse 9.2 machine. Is there another ASF media that I could use? thanks

You will need the win32 codecs.

You can get them from mplayerhq.com

You may want to hurry, seems they are shutting down for euro patent infringment.

I had to compile mplayer against the win32 codecs, but if you are lucky you can drop them in a directory and configure the path for win32 codecs.

Try VideoLan Client (VLC). It should work fine, and it has (unofficial) Suse rpms on its website. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-suse.html
