arts configuration

hi,

i'm not shure if this was asked before, but i'll like to know if there is a posibility to change some configuration from alsa...

it don't sound very good (using xmms and alsa plugin, for example) using oss works fine.
i thought, maybe it is some equalizer problem or something like this.

running FC2!

thankx,

Well I don't really know what to do, I run Xandros for a while a go... and it hade the same problem, even if I was using OSS, ESA or ALSA didn't work at all.

Anyway, if it's working fine with OSS, why go ALSA than?

Though I think it has with the sampling rate to do, whats the rate? 44.1K or higher as 48K. If it's 48K you get a bad sound if you are playing CD's and e.g Mp3's this because the most of them uses 44.1 as a sampling rate.

And then I could be on deep water to!

well, it is working fine with oss and alsa.

sampling rate is 44.1... so it shouldn't work bad....

Ahh... now I see why I missunderstand you. Anyway, here comes something to think about:

I read on a page that XmmS 1.2.8 doesn't work with new artsd-1.1.94, so which versions does you have?

http://bugs.xmms.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1525

This might be some old bugs... I never checked the dates.. you might allready know this
