Art Programs

Since this is the software forum perhaps I'll find an answer here.
I need advice on alternative Art/Drawing programs to GIMP.
Gimp is a little too complex at the moment, maybe with time I'll get better.
I've heard of Inkscape however I had some dependancy issue with SUSE.
Anyway I would appreciate some direction gang.

SODIPODI is quite similar to INKSCAPE

Inkscape is a fork of Sodipodi so they are very much similar.
I suggest looking on freshmeat for more graphics software

Thanks for the quick responses. Still on the edge of being a noob.
I see all of these .gz and rpm files- so that I dont goof, which package of sodipodi should I download?
