Ark - - permission to extended drives
I am trying to find how to give Ark permission to create archives in extended drives, as it is Ark will only create archives in home directory

Its not Ark but your permissions that is probably causing the problem.

As a standard user you are restricted from creating/modifying/deleting files in a range of places - this is why you use 'sudo' or log in as 'root' to gain greater permissions for certain functions. This is what makes Linux so much more bomb proof than other OS's.

Ensure the folders into which you want to create Ark files has the correct permissions set for the particular user to allow read/write.

A word of warning though, it isn't wise to change permissions on folders without considering potential issues such as whether others have access to the machine and who, in turn, could modify the files therein - you don't want to give everyone else access to system files unless you trust them not to delete stuff...

The drives in which I would be using Ark, I have full permission and preform many other operations within them, but Ark will still only create folders in the /home/myfolder,and that is what has me confused.
