are unix and linux synonymous

...or..which dynamic dns should i use?
I'm following this:
http://www.zoneedit.com/doc/dynamic.html#faq3

and its catagorised into windows, mac, and unix dynamic dns clients.
Now by Unix, do they mean unix and unix-like OS's?

Any practical advice for running a dynamicdns client on kubuntu?

any replies greatly appreciated, I wanna get this right
