Are there linux programs for creating simple animated video scenes?

Hi, I had a hard time putting together a good wording for my subject heading. Basically I'm just looking for software that can help me storyboard for a movie. I'm looking for a program that would probably be similar to blender but already have models for me to animate and possible backround templates, so that I hopefully have to really worry about is the character's movements and dialoge and all that fun stuff. I know that there is a windows program very similar to what I'm looking for called 3d movie maker, and I was wondering if there is a program similar to that in linux. Sorry about how confusing this post must be but it is rather hard to describe. Thank you for your time.
