Are There Any Windowlist Dockapps
I've been searching dockapps.org and the dockapp warehouse, but can't find what i'm looking for. I know about all the windowlist panels out there like fspanel, fbpanel, pypanel, gnome-panel etc. but was wondering if there is a dockapp that will show me the windowlist by clicking on it. I use fluxbox and middleclicking to choose between the different desktops and to remember whether I iconified that window or not which menu to go to feels clumsy to me. Is there a better way that is more integrated with the windowmanager like a dockapp or a way to configure fluxbox to just show all the windows no matter what desktop or iconified status they are when I middleclick and get the workspaces menu?
Thanks, this is my first post here, but i've been using linux and unixes for a number of years but not too much with X. I'm also curious if I could get the windowlist myself with a command like xprop or something and switch windows some other way? Like a little perl/tk app or something? |
fluxbox is designed to be a fast, bare bones desktop. Rather than trying to add functional capability to fluxbox, I think that it would be easier for you to install Gnome. You can install Gnome in addition to fluxbox and then use whichever one works best for you.

Try bbpager, it might be of interest to you. It's a very simple desktop pager originally designed for blackbox but it works with fluxbox as well. :)
Also, the functionality of the window list in the development releases of fluxbox is increased. Håkan |
