To anyone who knows something about Ardour, I could use some help. I've recorded a few tracks and tried to export them as WAV files, but come out with nothing in the WAV. The track will play, but won't play any actual sound. The WAV is a flat line. To the specifics:

-Ardour and Ubuntu were downloaded less than a week ago, so I believe I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 and the latest Ardour.

-Yes, I checked the boxes in the export dialogue indicating the master out 1 & 2 to be exported (left and right, respectively).

-I'm running everything off a crappy old dell I bought for 25 dollars, so the sound card might be an issue. Though, I thought that everything I was doing was running off of the external soundcard of the usb mixer (us-122 tascam) that I'm using.

-I've read about others having this problem, but no one has gotten an answer about it. My roommate just installed Ardour, and for some reason his WAV files work fine. Any ideas? Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Make sure that your jackd connections are in place. Outputting to master out does nothing if master out isn't connected to anything. Assuming there's no hardware issues anyway.

qjackctl is your friend. And some deeply embedded menu versions in ardour for the same.

And various CLI options jack<tab><tab> (jack_connect, .......)
