Archives lost in Thunderbird
Hello everyone,
I am working on Ubuntu BionicBeaver 18.04.2 LTS. The Thunderbird version I*am working on is 1:60.6.1+build2-0ubuntu0.18.04.1. I have been using Thunderbird for one year without any trouble until now. But suddenly, my "Archive" folder in Thunderbird has changed. Most of the folders and mails stored over there have disappeared, except two for unknown reasons. It is still linked with my mail account, as I*still receive new mails. But the archive file has been corrupted on Thunderbird, while the Archive file is still unchanged on the mail website on my browser. Would you have experienced the same? Any idea of what is going on? Thanks for the help! |
Assuming it is IMAP?
Try rt-click on the folder, choose "properties", then click "repair folder" button to regenerate the index. |
Thanks for your answer descendant_command. :)
It is a good suggestion, but I*have tried already in the Archive directory and the last directory available inside. It does not fix the problem. I think I*will have to re-install Thunderbird to see if the Archive directory can be restored. |
With tbird closed, delete the related folders/files from the ImapMail dir in your profile, then restart and it should rebuild them.

Another possibility: Unsubscribe from all archive folders, restart TB and subscribe again.
I'm personally not comfortable messing around in the profile, if it can be avoided. |
