Apt rpm conflicts???
 

I have been working on mplayer for one week. I have been using linux for one week. Anyways, I am running RH9 and can't get the sources or rpm's to work. After reading this post: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...mplayer+issues
I have decided to try apt-get. Now I have another problem:

[root@dhcppc0 kyle]# rpm -Uvh apt-0.5.5cnc6-fr1.i386.rpm

How do I fix this?

well it looks like you already have it, so use your existing version..

can you explain the error message? How do i know that I already have it?

I don't think that is right... the command apt-get doesn't work.

hrmm, maybe you can remove the existing package and try again, or even force the installation with the --force flag...
i would recommend removing the existing version at first attempt
