apt-get Failed to fetch...Size mismatch on Fedora

Here are my specs...

Linux 2.6.1-1.65 #1 Fri Jan 30 17:28:54 EST 2004 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

rpm fedora/linux/development/i386 core
rpm fedora/linux/1/i386 freshrpms
root@fedora apt]# rpm -q apt

error received is:

Failed to fetch Size mismatch

and that is repeated for every upgradable rpm not cached.

I have done
apt-get clean
apt-get -f update
apt-get update

within synaptic have done the same...

No reply since 2004 and this problem is still happening.

Does anyone on earth have an idea as to what is going on?
