Unhappy GLIBC_2.3.3 not defined libc.so.6

heres my problem

just recently went through one hell of a problem updating my webserver from RH9 default stuff to recent items, everything kinda works (for my use anyway) but the one thing i just recently updated was apache

i updated all the dependencies etc to what was needed and that but now i get this error when trying to start apache

Starting httpd: /usr/sbin/httpd: relocation error: /usr/lib/libapr-0.so.0: symbol sys_siglist,
version GLIBC_2.3.3 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time
reference

[FAILED]

if anyone has any information that may help in my cause please let me know

thanks for your time
-Ben

My guess is that the apache you installed was compiled against a newer version of glibc than you had installed.
