Apps for fluxbox slit

What apps can I add to the slit? I see xload (or a clone of it) in all screenshots, but trying both
Code:
xload -w
and
Code:
xload &
Doesnt work. I have managed to attach xmms as stated in the docs.
Code:
wmxmms &
What does the & do?

Any help appreciated.

With thanks,
unholy

Maybe you are seeing gkrellm?

From man bash:
Code:
If a command is terminated by the control operator &, the shell executes the command in the background in a
subshell. The shell does not wait for the command to finish, and the return status is 0.

Try wmaker dockapps. I am a huge fan of the wmcpuload/wmnetload/wmapmload/wmclockmon series of dockapps that match each other's looks. You can find them at dockapps.org.

I'm in Galway. I know uilleann pipe and bodran makers (The Vignoles). We have some good trad bands here, like Tamlin. Nice web site by the way.

I'd never have put a linux addict and a trad head in the same pair of shoes!

Where in Ireland do you hail from?

hw-tph, cheers, I'll look into that. I;ve seen cool wmaker screenshots too.

My only student had aVignoles chanter.

I got to look out of the window in Shannon airport one time on my way to my ex-wife's dad's funeral. I was born and raised here in the mountains of western NC.

If I can ever stop buying pipes, I am going to visit one day...
