Apper

I'm unfamilar with apper, so installed synaptic that I know
well. Then I thought - NO get used to apper. so using
apper, I removed synaptic: disaster! it also removed
apper, and libreoffice!
So short doing another re-install of debian 7.8 how do
I get apper back, then I can get libreoffice back back
and whatever else I find is now missing.
I can't believe this is happening to me, what has
libre office to do with synaptic (and apper)?

I used "apt-get install apper"
then re-install libreoffice.
