APM support and kernel configuration
Hello! I 've just compiled my first kernel (yes I am newbie!) and I have a major problem about power management in my linux box...
The machine doesn't shut down completely and I get the message "power off" or something like this anyway. I am afraid that something got wrong about APM support when I configured the kernel. Can anyone help me about that? APM support is enabled in BIOS. The kernel version I configured is 2.4.21 Thanks !! |
Does it use APM or ACPI. If the later go to acpi.sourceforge.net and get the latest kernel patch. If APM, double check your settings in the configuration file..

That's the point...I use APM and i don't know the right configuration, so my machine does not shut down properly. My question is what must be enabled in kernel to shut down my pc completely...
Thank U! |
Uncheck all ACPI and check all APM options under "General". That should do it as long as the version of APM used by your machine is supported.
