apahce2 + php

I just installed/upgraded my system from Mint 17 to Mint 18 and I'm trying to get my system back the way it was. I just ran `apt-get install apache2 php` and wrote a simple php script in /var/www/html/test.php

PHP Code:
<?php

phpinfo
();

?>
But when I pull it up in the browser it's displaying the source code instead of the generated html. Note that just going to localhost in the browser does yield the apache page so apache is working. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks. I actually ended up having to install libapache2-mod-php7.0. But after the mod5 thing didn't work I knew what to look for with apt-cache. So thanks again.
