Apache web server

Ok so I installed apache on kubuntu and when I was done doing the make install I try to start it and I can't.

I went through these steps:

$ ./configure --prefix=PREFIX
$ make
$ make install
$ PREFIX/bin/apachectl start<----- this is where I got stuck

Why the --prefix=PREFIX option? It should work just fine without it.

Anyway, you should post any error messages you have. Also, try /PREFIX/bin/apachectl start, I believe PREFIX would be under your root directory.

PREFIX is a place holder and was supposed to be replaced with an actual path, usually /usr.
