Apache strange behaviour

Hello all,

I've noticed some strange behaviour from apache2 that has occurred from time to time since maybe a month or two ago.

I am running Apache 2.0.55 with php 5.1.5 and it runs two websites.

The requests will start timing out for a couple of minutes for one of the websites (while the other one is fine). The hang (timeout) period is definetly not the 300 second Timeout - although I haven't timed it, if anything its more like the 15 second KeepAliveTimeout.

I don't know anything about persistent connections, but I am guessing they apply per client (that a client is allowed to make more than one request per connection). However, from the logs (which show nothing really interesting) I have noticed that no other clients can make connections during the period either (where it is reasonably assumed that there would be activity).

Any ideas?

Thank you
