Ok well i have a server apache website i was told that i need someone to host me like so it would be blahblah.dyndns.org how could i just make it like blahblah.com or w/e i heard that i need someone to host me plz help me clear these up!!!
You could have a free domain (that is what you need ) in www.no-ip.com , it's free and even if you have a dynamic IP it will point always to your server, they have lot's of domain's you can choose
I concur, no-ip.org is a very good service, also I hear dyndns is pretty good as well. I like no-ip.org as the user interface is pretty easy to set up. I recently installed their client application (on Linux) which passes your dynamic ip address to their servers so if your service provider changes your ip address (which they do!) it automatically gets changed on no-ip's dns servers, it's cool because you can always locate your network by name (rather than remembering the IP address!
