apache - public_html (mod_userdir) loaded but wont work :(

So in my /etc/httpd/conf/commonhttpd.conf i have;

<IfModule mod_userdir.c>
UserDir public_html

uncommented. Im using Mandrake 9, just as I was on another machine and all i remember was uncommenting this and it worked just fine, this time around however, it is not and im loosing my mind over it.

I doublechecked that was loaded in httpd.conf and over looked all the other settings, looks fine to me, permissions on the dir (for testing purposes) are set to rwxrwxrwx, Any suggestions? Perhaps I am over looking something.

Need more info. If you go to
what happens? Don't know about Mandrake but in Red Hat you have to edit the /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file. I don't know what that commonhttpd.conf file is.

What message do you get when you go to ?
