Apache Proxy Question

Does anybody know if there is a way to add ProxyPass entries for Apache at run time? I'm trying to set up a firewall bypass using reverse proxy but I want a php script to add sites to the list. As of now I can only get it to work by adding it to a file (included in the httpd.conf) and restarting Apache. Is there a way to get Apache to recognize the new entries without restarting?
