Apache Problems

Well, I just installed debian on a machine, and used apt-get to get apache. When I try to view a page that's being served, I can't view any of the images. I can view an image when I type whatever.net/image.jpg in the address bar, though, just not when I use the img tag in an HTML document. Any suggestions?

Well, I don't think this has anything to do with Linux or Apache but perhaps your html code.

Can you give us a snippet of your code along with your apache root directory, the directory pages are served from and where the images are stored... and the full paths that is!

Certainly.

Here's a snippet from the code:

Code:
<a href="http://www.debian.org/" target="_blank"><img src="images/debian_logo_large.gif" width="468" height="60" border="0"></a>
Apache's root directory is /etc/apache, the document root is /var/www/, and the images are stored at /var/www/images. Thanks!

All looks good to me.. what happens if you try putting the image in the root directory, like in /var/www with the index or other html pages, change your code to remove the "images/" portion? Does it load it in the page then?

Well, I just moved all the crap to my user directory, and all I had to do was chmod the images, and it worked fine. When I tried to do the same thing with everything in the /var/www directory, though, it didn't work.
