Apache/PHP Question on adding modules dynamically

Is it possible to add additional modules/extensions to PHP after it's already been compiled?

I'm running CentOS Linux with Apache2.2 and PHP 5.1.2
PHP itself is being loaded dynamically as a module for Apache.

right, that's what I was asking
what are my options for installing it?

in Windows, you can uncomment them inside php.ini - can I do the same in the linux version of php?

and what did you mean by "the bounce apache."
