Apache Make Errors With SSL

I have removed php and httpd packages (rpms) from RedHat 9 so that I can install Apache 2.0.45 and PHP 4.3.x from scratch in order to include gd2.0 or above for the image functions. When I configured apache, I used these options.

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache \
--enable-so \
--enable-cgi \
--enable-info \
--enable-rewrite \
--enable-speling \
--enable-usertrack \
--enable-deflate \
--enable-ssl \
--enable-mime-magic

I then ran make and it comes back with:/bin/sh /root/apache2.0.45/httpd-2.0.45/srclib/apr/libtool --silent --mode=compile gcc -g -O2 -pthread -DLINUX=2 -D_REENTRANT -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=500 -D_BSD_SOURCE -D_SVID_SOURCE -D_GNU_SOURCE -DAP_HAVE_DESIGNATED_INITIALIZER -I/root/apache2.0.45/httpd-2.0.45/srclib/apr/include -I/root/apache2.0.45/httpd-2.0.45/srclib/apr-util/include -I. -I/root/apache2.0.45/httpd-2.0.45/os/unix -I/root/apache2.0.45/httpd-2.0.45/server/mpm/prefork -I/root/apache2.0.45/httpd-2.0.45/modules/http -I/root/apache2.0.45/httpd-2.0.45/modules/filters -I/root/apache2.0.45/httpd-2.0.45/modules/proxy -I/root/apache2.0.45/httpd-2.0.45/include -I/usr/include/openssl -I/root/apache2.0.45/httpd-2.0.45/modules/dav/main -prefer-non-pic -static -c mod_ssl.c && touch mod_ssl.lo

[root@sforsgren-linux-01 httpd-2.0.45]# rpm -qa | grep openssl
openssl096-0.9.6-17
openssl-devel-0.9.7a-5
openssl096b-0.9.6b-6
openssl-perl-0.9.7a-5
openssl-0.9.7a-5

Nothing wrong, but AFAIK you need the Kerberos development package (krb5-devel-.*.rpm) installed.

this should work:

cd /usr/include
ln -s /usr/kerberos/include/krb5.h krb5.h
ln -s /usr/kerberos/include/com_err.h com_err.h
ln -s /usr/kerberos/include/profile.h profile.h
