Apache and Flash Headaches
I am running apache server 1.2 on Debian Linux.
For some reason swfs will not load. If I bring up the page on my LAN, it comes up fine, but if I walk down the street or anywhere else is when I get the problem. I have the x-shockwave-flash mime type configured correctly as far as I can tell. I have the html files in the same directory as the swfs. The page loads but the swfs just show up in white. When I right click on then, Macromedia dialogue comes up. I know other people have had this problem but I have yet to find an answer for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kong |
Well, I think I figured it out. After making some changes to the httpd.conf file, the swfs miraculously loaded. I commented out some file permission settings, and I noticed that there is a place in
the config file to specify mime types besided those in the mime.types file. I added the entry for x-shockwave-flash, and I think thats what really solved the problem. I also changed my port forwarding software to (tcp-tunnel) and noticed the pages loaded a lot quicker than with the other software I was using (skylark). |
kong, i'm having the same problem as you have previously.
can you mention in details about how you solve your problem? thanks!!! |
