I run a server out of my closet that runs apache. In my old house, we had cable. I set up my router to DMZ my server, and it worked. I had a web server in my closet! In my new house, we use Verizon DSL, which has blocked port 80. I decided to use port 81. I then went to my router settings and forwarded port 81 to my server, and changed the config file for apache. I could not get onto my site. I typed in my servers lan address, and i could get on. I then became curious, and launched an apache server from my windows laptop and set it to port 81. I could access this server over the web via my dsl ip. I then went to my linux box and edited the services and inet files and designated port 81 as a www port alongside 80. I restarted the server, changed all my forwarding so the port 81 pointed to the server, etc. I can access the page via the lan IP, but not my dls' www ip. Any suggestions?
