i think that is what my problem is: i dont have an index file

can u help me make one if that is the problem???

dude ...

try in ur browser --> http://localhost:80/laundryswebsite.html
see if it works...

just rename the laundryswebsite.html to index.html [so that anybody visiting ur site will view this file by default]

all the file needs to have in it is

<html>
<body>
<h1> HELLO WORLD !!!!!!!!! </h1>
</body>
</html>

okay i got localhost to work by changing it to index.html

now how do i get laundryswebsite.com to work?

did u register the domain name[laundryswebsite.com] already???

for ur website to be able to the whole world u need to register ur domain name.

or u can get a free domain's from --->www.dyndns.org and many others..

go to above site for more info..

www.dyndns.org gives u 4/5 domains of ur choice for free if they are available with them...
and they are pretty decent ones like ----> drethenerd.homelinux.org[com,net], drethenerd.homeunix.org [com,net], and a few other's..

just wondering, how do websites like dyndns.org register other people's domains and how did they register they're domain?
