Your last post on the FrontPage extensions was several months ago, but I just ran across it while trying to research the same subject. I also have RH 8.0. Unfortunately I haven't progressed as far as you did, so I'm in the position of asking YOU for help!
Where did you find the rpm files for the Apache Development tools? They don't appear to be on the first 3 install disks as far as I can see. Did you get your FrontPage extensions files from Microsoft directly or from Ready to Run Software? I used the later and got much further, but still stuck at this point.
Were you eventually successful?
TIA

In my case I went to http://www.rtr.com/fpsupport/ to get the version 5. This site was mentioned on Microsoft's FrontPage site and is specific for FrontPage 2002 and will work with Apache versions 1.3 thru 2.0. Works as a DSO module, but I needed the apxs file which somehow was not installed. Should I just go ahead and upgrade my copy of Apache to 2.0.47 ??

well 2.0.47 does fix some security issues and it's been pretty stable for me. but i only use apache for local testing and i don't know about the frontpage extensions really since i never installed it. whether the upgrade will make a difference in your fp woes, i couldn't honestly tell you.
