AOL UK Software on Linux

A friend of mine wants a linux machine for work, however the AOL (UK) software is required to log on to their server because it has some security stuff, i don't know. Anyway they can only use linux if AOL works on linux. I have tried crossover, wine and even cedega (why not) and although it installs fine i get errors to do with connection settings. Is there a way to get this to work. I'm not too fussed about the distro.

You may not need the aol software at all to connect although some services may not be available - billing, live chat and parental controls. From what I could see at www.thinkbroadband.co.uk if the connection is via router it should be a case of entering user name and password as normal. See here 1st post by MrSaffron for more details.
This guides are intended for windows users but there is nothing there that can't be done in linux.
