Anything like protools or garageband for linux if you want to record guitar
Anyone into guitar, that has set up recording on their linux box. I noodle around on guitar, been playing about 3yrs.
Haven't messed with recording at all - not even on windows. Thinking I'd like to set up some recording; like home version of pro tools, garageband, ect....but i need to buy a piece equipment to hook up to the computer, but wondering what software i can use to record... Any thoughts... Thanks Boyd |
Hi,
I'm playing guitar almost 15 years, but I never had the need for involving computer in my music.I think you should check this site if you are looking for a Linux distro for music production. |
Quite a few options depending on how simple or complex you want to work.. or how many tracks you wish to be able to record at one time..
Audacity Ardour http://sound.condorow.net/ http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Applications http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/7457 http://www.linuxaudio.org/ The Alsa project site has a list of compatible sound cards. if you decide you want 4, 8 or 16 track recording you would want to look at something like the M-Audio cards. |
