Anyone using good discussion forum software for Slackware?

I want to create a discussion forum using my Slackware 10.2 box. I would prefer it to be free. Anyone have a suggestion? I would like it to be threads like on this board.

thanks

I've used phpBB. It's also very popular.

phpBB is the name of the game. It runs on your typical LAMP server (with other database options besides mysql as well). I haven't installed it on a server (I use it via my webhost), but it seems straightforward enough to setup.

phpBB is easy to use and very popular, but be aware that it has had more than its share of security problems in the past. Make sure you've got some decent security precautions installed like using Aide, Tripwire or Samhain to monitor the integrity of the file system. Check into how to harden Apache. There are lots of good links and advice in sticky threads at the top of the Security forum.
