Anyone Using ghostery-2.x Addon for Firefox?
This addon is described on as:

Ghostery alerts you about the web bugs, ad networks and widgets on every page on the web.

Web bugs are hidden scripts that track your behavior and are used by the sites you visit to understand their own audience.
It's available from, but self-installs. I wonder what experience people have had with it. I saw a favorable mention in today's Slashdot:

Your Rights Online: Tynt Insight Is Watching You Cut and Paste

I mentioned it last year in some cluebie thread.

Not much to say about it. It just works.

NoScript blocks web bugs.

Forbid "Web Bugs" blocks Web Bugs (tracking images) found inside <noscript> tags, used as a (less effective) fall-back to spy on user's behavior when scripts are not available

Sure NoScript filters web bugs but if you'd used Ghostery you'd seen it lists trackers by name and allows you to filter them selectively.

Ah sweet, one more nice extension to add to the list of must haves.

Thanks for pointing Ghostery out.
