anyone running "dartfish" on Linux

In the sports world -- and similar places -- there is software called Dartfish(tm) that enables analysis and processing of sports video. Sadly, it is an app for win-dose. Is anyone in LQ-land running Dartfish on Linux?

One option I've considered is using VirtualBox(tm) or CrossOver(tm) to run the win-dose app, but I don't know if there is firewire support. (I suppose there are boxes that connect firewire to USB.) Does anyone know how well live video capture or similar works in a virtualized environment?

In common use, one connects a workstation to a video camera using firewire. Dartfish then captures the preferably live or pre-recorded video and enables the operator to add various forms of meta-data into the resulting data file. One option enables the addition of time-stamp cueing "tags" so that it is easy to find events later. Other options enable markup and drawing on the video to draw attention to details. (We've all seen the replay where a player has a halo or similar bright spot as they run. That halo effect is Dartfish.) Still other options exist to cut and process the video into "highlight" or "training" films, web movies, &c.

Thanks in advance,
~~~ 0;-Dan
Maybe there is a different question that leads to responses then answers...
Has anyone run Crossover or VirtualBox or VMware and been able to use their firewire parts within the win-dose world?
