Anyone know of a checklist program?
I am a previous windows user, having abandoned windows for a countless number of reasons (though it is technically still on my hard drive to play games :-P).
In windows, however, i had one tool available that i do not see in Adept or with a google linux search: A program to make checklists! Its simple - you have a virtual checklist - you can add, edit, and remove items on the checklist and each item has a priority setting of low, normal, or high. Does anyone know of such a program? Thanks!:D |
Try searching for "todo". When I apt-cache search my debain sarge box, I get the following:
devtodo gpe-todo gtodo phpgroupware-todo quicklist nag |
Most of the outlook-esque programs have a to-do list.
Korganizer does, and I beleive thunderbird does. |
thanks ... some good programs here. Some may be just the ticket ....
But i'm really not looking for a to-do list... im looking for a program to make any number of checklists... the difference being, i use checklists for individual things within some other thing. so, for example, i put a list of grocieries onto a checklist. But i would put buy grocies on a todo list. Maybe im searching the wrong terms ... "todo list program" may search better... thanks guys! |
This is the type of task I'd put into a shell script (I have, in fact, been planning something along these lines).
What features do you need? |
not many... basically, i can put a list into a file, so that each item can be checked and unchecked. That way, i have no particular limit to the number of lists :-)
Haven't found anything quite like that yet for linux... i'd probably make one but my experience with C is limited... (i didn't use it for more than a month or so before i quit high-level programming and took up assembly which i've used since... i wouldn't call myself an expert (yet) but my goal is a computer science degree so i figured that was a good place to start :)) In windows i used the desktop edition of a PocketPC program called "A Simple CheckList pro" ... though a google for that would yield many unrelated items :-P |
