Anyone ever get these progs to work in wine/winex/cxoffice?

ok guys, im sure im just asking a similar question to many others....but theres a few progs just tying me to windows i cannot lose..im wondering if anyones gotten them to work in wine/x cxoffice

I NEED a great video editor. Im used to Ulead media studio 7....its basic edit/text/transitions etc....but then thers Combustion 3.0.3, which has an incredilbe setup. Mainly i need it for particle emitters, but you can compose like everything inside it. The equivilent to it, i suppose is Adobe after FX. Equivilent to ulead would be premiere. If anyone so much as got AE and premeire to work id make myself learn those 2. i know theres mainactor 5, cinerella, and some other one i cant think of...but are there like ways i can add transitions etc?

Guitar pro. I know we have Kguitar, but my band uses .gp3 format. i hear kguitar can do basic gp3, what about gp4? if there was a simple conversion lib or tool to go from Gpx to kguitar and back id use it.

Photoshop. If i MUST ill use PS7 but id prefer ps8.

Uhh thats about it. I use trillian for IM's but its been pissing me off to no end with its worthlessness.

How affective is VMware for sound support? i hear VIrtual PC has terrible support as does Win4Lin.

Well, gentoo is known to be one of the hardest Linux systems to use. If the guy is proficient with Gentoo, chances are he knows how to make more than Gitar Pro work.
