Thumbs down Anybody here use gramps with red hat?

All works except when I try to export as a GEDCOM (or any other export except the default, .gramps). It just exports as a file with no extension. If I export as a gedcom, it should have the .ged extension. I can't upload it anywhere without exporting is as a gedcom. I can import gedcoms with no problems.

I read the sourceforge manual pages for gramps concerning exporting at .http://gramps.sourceforge.net/extending-gramps/x177.htm

Edit: Okay it is a problem that has to do with not having some stuff I need to write the program somehow using Python. I get this error message when I did something:

The following modules could not be loaded:

PdfDrawDoc.py Missing Libraries

Traceback (innermost last):

File "/usr/share/gramps/Plugins.py", line 301, in load_plugins

a = __import__(plugin)

File "/usr/share/gramps/docgen/PdfDrawDoc.py", line 35, in ?

raise _("Missing Libraries"), _("The ReportLab modules are not installed")

PdfDrawDoc.py Missing Libraries (similar to above)

This looks like it pertains to the scripts on the gramps sourceforge site. Looks like I needed to write a script somewhere? Care to tell me exactly what to write and where. I don't write scripts yet.

I haven't been able to install Gramps yet. I don't have the dependancies (according to rpm) and have been unable to
install pygnome rpm for some unknown reason.

I installed GRAMPS (the 99.00 version yesterday) and imported teh GEDCOM I had made in a Windoze program. All appears to be working well, but I can't figure out how to get photos into the 'gallery'. I have the phots on a CD but can't figure out how to get them form the CD to the Gallery via the 'add ...file'. Any suggestions?

Well my problem is fixed - it was from upgrading from gnome 1 to gnome 2 libraries. The listserve for Gramps is excellent. You might try your questions there. BTW, 1.0 is availble now and it is an excellent program.
