any subsitution for ms-exchange??

any software of linux can subsitute ms-exchange... i wan to kick my ms-exchange out of my pc....

1) CommuniGate Pro.
2) Bynari's Insight GroupWare Suite.
3) Samsung Contact.
4) Teamware Office.
5) Novell Netmail.
6) Amphora. (Zope / Qmail).
7) Tutos. (Apache / PHP / Mysql / Sendmail).
8) Kroupware. The project from the KDE PIM developers, which is being financed by the government of Germany.
9) SuSe Linux Openexchange Server.
10) PHPGroupware.
11) SCOoffice Mail Server.
12) LinuXchangE.
13) OpenOffice.org Groupware Project.
14) Tiki CMS/Groupware. (Apache / PHP / Mysql).

which one is the most reliable and most popular in used

There is also IBM/Lotus Domino 6.5 for Linux and Windows.
I have run it on Redhat, Debian and Gentoo all are very stable and very reliable.
You get mail, calandering and Scheduling, webmail plus spam filtering and multiple address books.

It would be nice to know which where free and what the websites are for the free ones. I would also like to vote that HP to rerelease their offering as an exchange replacement

Exchange does a number of things. Depending on the priority you place on its elements, calandering etc... different packages are more\less appropriate.

What do you do with\expect of Exchange now?

i am experting it to mail sending and receiving, files sharing through public folders or private folders

I expect the full feature set of features from any replacement.

Gordano's product does all of these things with the exception of sharing non-mail items (i.e. contacts, tasks, calendars, notes and journals) which is due to the added in the middle of this year.

This timescale was OK for me.

Lotus Domino has to be the most complete Exchange replacement there is. Its quicker and can run native outlook clients (so the users do not see any changes). Also gets u out of the current M$ license trap.

how many of u had experience it lotus domino? pls...give some opinions on lotus domino

I've used Lotus Notes and Domino quite a bit. In many ways it exceeds MS Exchange's functionality. It has a built-in database and form designer, for example. We used it for things like downtime request forms and departmental forums/boards.
