Any software can edit PDF files, like Acrobat Professional in Windows?

Is there any software in Linux that can edit PDF files, like Adobe Acrobat Professional?

um Scribus and OpenOffice both let you output to PDF, if that's what you want.

Smile nothing like acrobat professional for Linux

No. I have researched this extensively, and the only solution is to have a windows partition and work there. Pdfedit is ... gamma software (really does not work), scribus and gimp aren't remotely able to do what Acrobat Professional does. Adobe are also not interested in producing a Linux version for purchase apparently. It is surprizing how many Linux people will tell you how you can do what you want with the afore mentioned "alternatives", but in my experience they just don't work - and life is short.
