Any KWorldClock* style applications still around?
I seem to recall that somebody on this forum posted about a similar application to KWorldClock* which worked under XFCE but, sadly, I don't recall the name and my searching ability escapes me. Does anyone know of something like this?
I'm on Debian Sid with XFCE but I don't mind if it has a truck load of dependencies and I can handle compiling if I need to. Anything that is either a 3D globe or can run as a desktop background would be even better.
OK, so I know all the above is pushing my luck but I thought it worth asking.
*For those who haven't used it it was a Mercator-projection map of the world with major cities highlighted with the city of your choice centred and a moving shadow showing the progress of the sun. Cities could be hovered over to see the local time.
Sadly it has been for years -- I used to use it as a desktop background then KDE "went through the change" and couldn't do that and that applications died off.
Somebody did post about a similar application recently but I didn't manage to make a note before I was distracted and now I can't find it.
I used to find it pleasing, somehow, and helpful when I was chatting to people online.

Not to worry, it's not a common type of request here.
[Perhaps I ought to mention that I'm running a Red Hat 4.0 in a VM on a Kali 2.0 install and can't get it working?]***
