Any know of a KAlarm type app for gnome?

Hi,

Does anyone know of a Gnome equivalent app that does the same as KDE's KAlarm?
I know you can use KAlarm in Gnome but it won't minimize to the notification area when you close it and I don't want it minimized on the panel. I also don't want to use a heave weight app like Evolution for reminders.

Thanks in advance

Steve

this is the best I can find that is specifically 'gnome-centric'.

There isn't a requirement in linux to have a gnome this or a kde that unless you want a supposedly seamless integration of the program into the WM. For example, you could just do a google search for alarm and linux. As long as you have the required packages installed, you should be able to use it anywhere, with any WM.

However if it was a search for a gnome-centric program you can find it and more here:

How about using notify-send or zenity with standard unix scheduling tools?

Code:
sleep 3 && notify-send "Reminder" "I was going to do this..."
or
Code:
echo "zenity --info --text='I will not forget' --display=:0"|at 02:03
-b8rt
