Question Any IM client with "eye candy"?

Right now, I'm using GAIM; I've also used licq. However, GAIM is very bland looking. Is there a good IM client for ICQ/AIM which is less of an eyesore?

I'm not looking for busy ornate window gadgets, but rather just something elegant--like a pseudotransparent background or at least a smooth gradient. LICQ had an okay looking theme with a smooth gradient, but I never played around with it long enough to see if I could wrestle it into using suitably large fonts. I don't think it works with AIM, either.

I like GAIM's cleanness, but the lack of any background options makes it just a little bit too bland for my tastes.

Doesn't gAIM's skin change if you change your theme for Gnome?
