Any flipbook software in linux?

It seems that there are dozens of "flipbook" software programs in Windows, but, after searching for months, I have not found any in linux. Calligra Krita promised such software, but I can't find it.

Metaschima Thank you for your reply. However I already visited that website and found no flipbook software for linux there. Did I miss something? Rredbare

There is no "flipbook" software for Linux period. Don't look for it, because it doesn't exist. However, alternatives do exist and they are listed there. Linux is NOT Windoze, so do not expect your Windoze-only software to run on it. If you really need it, try using wine.

Metaschima I truly appreciate your patience with me. I have been using linux for about 7 years and don't want to go back to Windows. The software I'm looking for is called "flipbook" under windows. Is it called something else under linux? I visited the website you recommended but didn't recognize anything similar. Did I miss something? I appreciate your help. Thanks. Rredbare

Is "flipbook" for animation, if so? The Gimp or Blender and as pointed in metaschima's link and so on... http://www.junauza.com/2009/09/free-...animation.html

To Metaschima and to Jamison 20000e The software I am looking for is the software that turns the pages of a book or newspaper when you click on the bottom right corner of the page. Imaged on your computer screen is just the front of the book or newspaper. By clicking, you turn each page individually. In Windows it's called names such as "flipbook" or "pageflip." You can prepare 10 or 15 pages of text, stack them together, and turn the pages one-by-one as if you were reading a printed brochure or magazine. In December 2012, KDE Calligra Krita announced that the next version of Krita would contain such software (which they called "flipbook") in their linux version. In the last month I've looked at the linux version of Krita and can't find any "flipbook." Rredbare

jamison20000e Thank you for taking the time to help me. Many weeks ago, I investigated the websites you name. Although they claim to offer linux software, they offer only "Windows" (and occasionally Mac) software.

Looks like it exists in Calligra-Krita as a plugin but I'm not sure if it's a database thing or what you're looking for: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Calligra+Krita+flipbook

There may be better software but my second thought was HTML as well: http://turnjs.com/
http://jonls.dk/tag/flip-book/
or: http://www.edc.uoc.gr/~kapelas/book/...n/Default.html
from: http://www.winsite.com/Internet/Brow...-Free-Version/

To jamison20000e Thank you for your response 2 days ago. I could not decipher the first website you suggest. It looks like something only a software programmer would understand. (I visited that site 5 or 6 weeks ago.) The second site you suggested says that their software works on Ipad and Iphone. Nothing about linux and the cost is $45. (Does linux charge for their software?) The third website offers a free download which is a "zip" archive. Am I correct in thinking that "zip" archives are not compatible with linux? The fourth website you suggest is an advertisement for a computer software school. Does this mean that "windows" offers dozens of "page-turning" programs and linux offers nothing? I now have been searching for such (linux) software for months and still cannot find any. Obviously I'm frusrated. I have been using only linux for about 7 years. I love linux and would never go back to "windows".

Two ways, keep going trough software or make the books flippable yourself:
Code:
unzip /path/to/FlashPageFlip_FreeVersion.zip
and\or:
Code:
sudo apt-get install zip unzip

jamison20000e Thanks for being so patient with me. I certainly will try your "unzip" solution. I didn't know that that could be done. I'm truly grateful.

Hi,

It would say that it is more easy without a software.
I can recommend Paperturn an online website, where you can generate your pdf's to flip books. Really easy to use, design and embed.
In this case you will always have access to it
