Any BOINCers here that cannot connect to WorldCommynityOnline?
Hey Gang,
Okay, so, I'd like to chip in and rund BOINC to take some calculation load...I've set up a PC for this (and only this) and registered with the World Community Grid. However, in the messages, I read that the project cannot get any workload and it "guesses" (I guess) that the servers may be down. Internet works, I can get onto the internet, and even the site of the project... Any tips? Just to rule outages out, I signed up with SETI@home (something I hope will never find anything... :) ) and this one gobbles up the workload nicely... Thanks! Thor |
I think I know the answer. I have BOINC on two systems, here. Bothe on WCG, the one runs now, the other one refuses to move. Could it be that there's a "limit" to one PC per task?

Okay, I'll mark this as solved. I guess (GUESS being the word here) that WCG projects can only exist on one PC and login from an other PC (to take over the workload) is not possible/allowed. Have not delved any deeper into this, because the thing works now...on a project against malaria...
Just glad I can donate some computing power to some good cause...that's all... Thor |
