Cool Antivirus for use with sendmail

What antivirus software would you recommend? (Must be free). I want to use it to scan incoming email on my Redhat 9/sendmail email server as well as protect the server it self.

Check your RH cd's. Look for amavis, or better, amavisd. It's specifically designed for email virus filtering, but can also be used to scan your Linux installation. It's commercial, but there is a free, home-user option, which allows updates, at will, for a year. At the end of the year, just get a new home-user license, good for another year. It installs the antivirus app called antivir (on-line updates are easy as falling off a log).

The gist of it is that Linux isn't (yet) the target of many worms/virii/trogan horses, but Linux platforms do service for networks which host mswindows machines. Therefore, the antivir package proctects against the known Linux attacks, as well as the known windows attacks. Current file size of the virus definition files is almost 2 meg.

There are other antivirus offerings for Linux. Use google to search for them. Search for 'Linux antivirus' should turn up a good bit of reading material.

I didn't know antivir had a linux offering (something for me to check out). I have used bitdeffender and f-prot for linux. Both are command line only, but are easy to use (again, I believe they're free for personal use only).
