I invoke antivir from the command line to check all files & have no problems. Try this command from a terminal as root: antivir / --allfiles -s -nolnk

Oh by the way I configured my install to log to a custom file (/var/log/antivir.log) so I don't need any extra flags to get the output, I just have to check the log when I run it from cron, otherwise the final output on the terminal tells me what I need to know.
