Another Newbie question

Hello again,

I got a question whic might sound stupid, but hey, im a newb. The questions is:

i just downloaded an online game called Planeshift, and i extracted the tar.gz file, but i dont know what to run after that. I was assuming it was pssetup.bin but when i try to open it, it does nothing. No windows pop up, it acts as if i didnt even touch the file, so what should i do?

Look for the instructions or online docs...

maybe a file like... "README" or "INSTALL" would have further info

...just an idea...

are you trying to execute it?
try
./pssetup.bin
and if it doesn't work first do chmod +x pssetup.bin and then ./pssetup.bin

hmm, neither on em worked :\ something else strange, it doesnt automatically download plugins off the internet like Java, or Runescape (another online game) its almost as if my computer doesnt recognize what i want it to do, oh yeah, and im running mandrake 9.1 on an AMD K6-2 w/3Dnow, but it seems to run very slow (eg. programs take a long time to boot, web pages load slow, and after having more than 3 processes running, the mouse hangs.
