Annoying Window

Everytime I insert a DVD or blank media disk for burning, I get the following "window". I always select ignore since I use either K3b or Totem for my desired media. Is there a way to disable this pesky window or just completely remove this application that prompts this on my Debian box?

Please help.

You could remove the package nautilus-cd-burner, but it actually works pretty well.

If I remove this, will I still be able to burn CD's / DVD's using K3b and other apps?

Code:

cwilliams@cwilliams:~$ sudo apt-get remove --purge nautilus-cd-burner

Yes, all that gui malarkey is just a frontend to cdrecord, which does the actual burning.

A nitpick here, but people should be aware of what's happening on their system. Debian no longer uses cdrecord since parts of it have been licensed non-freely. cdrecord exits on Debian (Etch and Sid) systems only as a link to wodim the forked, freed sucessor to cdrecord.

I removed nautilus-cd-burner as per the code listed above and now when I insert a blank disk, I still see the same "annoying" window and I can still burn media using K3b so I am a little confused here.

Well, I wouldn't know as I use Slackware. :)

Must be some kind of auto-mounting tomfoolery going on, can't help you there. Is that KDE or what? There should be some option to disable it... somewhere. Since these bloated DEs claim to be easy to use, one would expect such options to be readily available. Or maybe the've cloned Windows a little too closely, eh?

Actually found it in the Gnome menu which was very easy.
